The icy jadeite melon has a soft green tone, complemented by brighter green blooms naturally distributed throughout the jadeite and beautifully accentuated by the carving. Subtle honey-yellow tones and purposeful placements add another layer of colour and character, making the piece especially distinctive.

Despite its generous thickness and substantial use of jadeite material, the piece retains excellent translucency, a fine-grained texture and beautiful lustre, reflecting the consistently fine quality of the jadeite throughout.

Fine relief carving flows across the surface of the melon, adding depth while allowing its natural colour variations and translucency to remain the focus. At the base, a delicately carved beetle adds a meaningful touch, referencing “Fu Jia Yi Fang” - an auspicious expression associated with wealth, prosperity and success.
