What is Type A jadeite?

This is why Type A jadeite is often the most valued among collectors, as its beauty comes from nature rather than artificial colour enhancement or chemical treatment.
How about Type B and C jadeite?
Type B and C jadeite refer to jadeite that has been chemically treated or altered. But what is the difference between the two?
Type B jadeite is bleached with acid to remove unwanted brown or yellowish tones, then filled with polymer or resin in a vacuum process to improve its appearance. However, the acid treatment can weaken the natural structure of the jadeite, making it more brittle than its natural form. Heat, sweat and sunlight may also cause the injected chemicals to turn yellow or brown over time.
Type C jadeite is dyed to enhance or change the colour of the jadeite, often to make it appear more vibrant and desirable. The injected dye may be unstable, and exposure to heat, sweat or sunlight can cause the colour to oxidise, fade or become uneven over time.
For jadeite that undergoes both chemical treatment and dyeing, it is referred to as Type B + C jadeite. Jadeite that is not Type A usually has little to no collector’s value and is generally less desirable among collectors.
