Description
Grade A imperial green jade butterfly pendant/brooch with excellent lustre and translucency. This butterfly pendant/brooch is uniquely designed from two Type A imperial green jade carved wings, two Type A imperial green jade cabochons and one Type A imperial red marquise jade. The two imperial green jade wings are carved from the same jade boulder, with intense vibrant green hue that is evenly distributed throughout the jadeite prices. The thickness of the jade pieces are also very good. The wings look very lively with very delicate carvings. The red imperial jade has very good lustre and translucency, which is very rare for red jadeite. The two green imperial jade cabochons also have good colours, lustre and translucency.
Certification by Nan Yang Gemological Institute (http://www.ngi.com.sg/), a reputable and independent Singapore gem testing lab, is available upon request.
Jadeite is highly demanded and is exclusively sourced from Myanmar, formerly Burma, hence it is widely known as “Burmese Jade”. It is rich in heritage and widely believed to have spiritual meanings in the Chinese culture. Jade is believed to protect the person who wears it. The butterfly is a symbol of long life because the second Chinese character in butterfly (蝴蝶) has exactly the same pronunciation as the character 耋 which means “more than 80 years of age”.
